Biography: Jason B. Hamm practices trial and appellate law. He joined Brockett & McNeel, LLP in August 2008, immediately following his graduation from law school.
Jason has experience in both state and federal courts in Texas. Jason is involved in the firm's representation of clients ranging from individual persons to privately-held companies of all sizes. His spectrum of experience encompasses representation before the court of appeals, on one end, to representation in the justice of the peace courts on the other end.
Since joining Brockett & McNeel, LLP, Jason has played important roles representing clients, as both the plaintiff and defendant, in numerous complex litigation disputes, including lawsuits relating to contracts, fiduciary duties, business torts, partnership relationships, real property, conversion, construction and contractors, products liability, oil and gas leases and drilling issues, livestock breeding, employment relationships, environmental torts, and suits with municipalities, as well as serious injury and death cases. Jason has experience with all aspects of the litigation process, both state and federal, from the initial pleadings through trial, including discovery, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, obtaining and defending against injunctive relief, defending and deposing key witnesses in depositions and at trial, and drafting appellate briefs. Jason has also represented companies and individuals in various transactional matters, ranging from entity formation to asset purchase agreements and buy-outs to real estate transactions, as well as he has experience in estate planning and guardianship work .
Jason is actively involved in the Midland community where he is a frequent provider of pro bono services to those less fortunate, and he has served for the past several years as an officer in both the Midland County Bar Association and the Midland County Young Lawyers Association. Jason is a graduate of Fort Stockton High School (Fort Stockton, Texas) and is a football letterman at the University of Texas. Jason is married to Mindy, and they have a one-year old son, Braden.
